Goal for 2007

I plan to get CPEHR and CPHIT certified in 2007. Professional certifications can be a great way to open doors that were challenging to open without the certification.

The healthcare IT field will grow considerably over the next five years. Certification and an understanding of a common body of knowledge (BOK) will be essential:

I'm an engineer by training, and charts have always told me more than a dozen talking heads on CNBC. The NASDAQ force index for today is: 21230802033. Stochastic and MACD are both trending down - NASDAQ's up on weak volume. The market is due for a correction - possibly in January when tax loss selling will happen. The interactive chart follows the static chart. Also, the yield curve slope changed to flat / inverted in early November 2006. When the yield curve slips from inverted back to normal, the market sell-off might begin.

December 25, 2006 Part II

We return to Washington, DC tomorrow evening - picking up my dog - 1/2 lab 1/2 golden retreiver. All dog owners are crazy about their respective dogs, but mine is truly special (at least to me). She actually understands spoken english - not just reading my commands and facial expressions - she understands what I'm saying - it's incredible. We go running every morning - keeps me in shape and her in shape as well. On another topic, the MS Vista bashers were out in full-force bashing MS and Vista's famed security claims. I run both Ubuntu Linux (in a VM Ware Player VM) and Windows XP on my laptop. I don't know why I'd want to switch to Vista, but my gut tells me that MS will stop supporting XP SP2 at some point and we'll all be forced to change. Time will tell. but I want to get all that I can out of XP SP2 and Linux until that day.

I'm in Naples, Florida right now visiting family. 2006 was a good year on all fronts, but 2007 should be better. The US geopolitical situation is improving, and the markets are up and unemployment is still low. Amicus USA (AUSA - www.amicususa.com) continues to work with Symphony Corporation (www.symphony.cc), IIF Data Solutions (www.iifdata.com) and A-Team Solutions (www.a-teamsolutions.com). All three companies are primed to do well in 2007.
